A new rapid policy motion has just been passed as a recommendation policy on the Illegal Migrant Bill. You can now see it here on the SYP website. The motion states:
"The Scottish Youth Parliament believes that the UK government’s illegal migrant bill is a direct violation of young people’s human rights and calls for the UK Government to withdraw the Bill and uphold its commitments to protect and care for unaccompanied or separated asylum-seeking children."
How are rapid policy motions passed?
Unlike other motions, rapid policy motions are not voted on by all MSYPs in order for them to pass quickly. They are usually motions which give the Scottish Youth Parliament's opinion on certain matters for rapidly developing issues.
